IATA World Cargo Symposium 2008

From the 3rd to the 6th of March 2008, IATA organised the World Cargo Symposium for the second consecutive year. Following the first successful year of the World Cargo Symposium in 2007, that took place in Mexico City, cargo executives and professionals gathered this year in Rome to attend industry and executive meetings which focused on the highlights of the year 2007 and on the future of the air cargo industry.

More than 900 representatives from customs and freight airlines, airports, freight forwarders, regulatory authorities, industry suppliers, freight shippers, civil administration, postal services, aircraft manufacturers and IATA strategic partners and members were present to discuss issues, benchmarks and best practices regarding the challenges and opportunities that the air cargo industry faces, the value that it brings to the customer, the climate change and more.

The main focus of this international symposium was to get the industry into action in order to simplify the business of the air cargo industry.
